Merchant City

One of the oldest quarters of Glasgow and the home of the Glasgow serviced apartments, The Penthouse G1. It is the cultural heart of the city, the area is characterised by buzzing bars, luxury apartments, tenement flats, award winning restaurants, design shops and artist galleries. Each street offers a variety of interests for every pocket and taste, whether you are looking for a unique piece of art, an antique plate, a bowl of borsch, a decaf skinny latte, a diamond ring, a tattoo, a night of comedy or an evening savouring classical music, you’ll find it all here…..

Glasgow Green

The Green is by far the oldest of Glasgow’s parks. It is situated within walking distance of the city centre east of the Saltmarket. It has extensive open spaces, modern play facilities, vast winter gardens and historic People’s Palace which allow the park to cater for all age groups whatever the weather.

Shopping

Buchanan Street is one of the main shopping thoroughfares in Glasgow. It forms the central stretch of Glasgow’s famous shopping district with a generally more upmarket, luxurious range of shops than its two neighbours Argyle Street, and Sauchiehall Street.

Entertainment

The Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC), located on the north bank of the River Clyde in Glasgow, is Scotland’s largest Exhibition centre.
The Main Building was completed and opened in 1985, with a concert by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra in Hall 1. It later held the Grand International Show in Hall 4 as part of the 1988 Glasgow Garden Festival. In 1990, the SECC was the one of the hubs of Glasgow’s year as European City of Culture, hosting concerts by Pavarotti, the Bolshoi Ballet and Opera and Bryan Adams.
